BIA (BODY COMPOSITION) TESTING
Bioimpedence analysis (BIA) uses computerized, non-invasive testing for assessing body composition. This is the measurement of the amount of body fat compared to lean body mass, together with the measurement of body fluid and cell health. BIA uses extremely low current electric signals at different frequencies. They are variably conducted by the lean body mass, fat mass, and body water.
Research has shown that body composition along with healthy functioning cell membranes are the key to a healthy body. Good health strongly correlates to having high quality cell membranes. When you improve your lean body mass (muscle, bones, organs, tissues, fluids) to fat ratio, you are able to influence the aging process and improve your health while reducing your risk to the chronic diseases of aging.
Bioimpedence testing is a way of early detection of altered body composition. This allows for early nutritional intervention and a reversal of accelerated aging. The accuracy of the BIA measurements provides an excellent indication of the state of health of your body and your cells. As you improve your body composition along with the health of your cells, you improve your health and decrease your risk to illness.
Body composition testing is done in our office as you lie on the exam table clothed. Sensors are placed on your hand and foot and the actual test is completed in minutes. The results enable us to devise a personal nutritional program to help improve your health, lower your risk to the chronic diseases of aging, and improve "YOUR REAL AGE."
